Victor Osimhen will miss Napoli’s Clash against Wisla Krakow…here is why?
Osimhen has been sent out a warning to the rest of Serie A with a brace in Napoli’s 3-1 win over Bayern Munich last Saturday.
New Napoli coach Luciano Spalletti is known to have brought out the best in strikers like Eden Dzeko and he is expected to do same with Osimhen now.
And because of that, he has decided to give the former Lille star a rest for Friday’s clash. Osimhen is expected to turn into a goalscoring monster under Spalletti, and he’s already showing a glimpse of what to expect when the new season kicks off.
However, the experienced coach has already told his Nigeria striker he can score a lot more goals, but first he needs to cut down on the amount of running he does in a game.
It was later reported that Osimhen will miss Napoli’s pre-season clash against Wisla Krakow, but not because of an injury.
The Nigerian has played all of Napoli’s three pre-season games over, but he’s likely to be rested for the clash against Krakow.
The 22-year-old has seven goals in three pre-season games for the Neapolitans this summer. He scored four goals in the thrashing of Anaunia before scoring the lone goal against Pro Vercelli.
The Super Eagles star will now be eagerly waiting for Napoli’s Serie A opener against Venezia on August 22.
“He is player who gives everything in a game, who runs a lot and every now and again this running can cause him (to make) some mistakes, but he is an important player, complete, and we count a lot on him,” Spalletti remarked.
