Shocking: The real truth behind Sir Victor Uwaifo’s death
Sir Victor Uwaifo reportedly died on Saturday afternoon at the Edo State government hospital.
He was 80 years old.
He was the winner of the first gold disc in Africa (Joromi) released in 1965 and seven other gold discs in Guitar boy, Arabade, Ekassa series and Akwete music.
Nigerians have been asking questions to know the true cause of his death.
Reacting to the reports, Goodman Osarentin Recall that the music legend, whose “Mammy Water” album was a hit for decades, succumbed on Saturday at the age of 80.

“I want to use this opportunity to clear this misinformation. We have heard rumours going around that our father, Sir Victor Uwaifo died of COVID-19. It is not true.
“He died of pneumonia and not COVID-19. He was rushed to the hospital on Friday and passed on the following day on Saturday, August 28. “We did the necessary tests. He was treated for pneumonia.”
Meanwhile, Many Nigerians have been mourning and paying tributes to Sir Victor Uwaifo.
Bonsue Fuji musician Adewale Ayuba, Popular flutist, Omatshola Iseli (aka Tee Mac) have paid tributes to the late musician.Otunba Olusegun Runsewe, Director General of the National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC), also paid tribute to the musician.
