“Be courageous to do the right thing” – Aisha Buhari warns Pantami

The first lady, Aisha Buhari seems to have resumed her break from the social media and condemning appointees of her husband, President Muhammadu Buhari.

It will be Recalled that the first lady is famous for criticizing her husband’s administration and some appointees of the government.

Aisha Buhari on Sunday shared a video showing minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, crying during one of his recent preachings.

Mr Pantami often goes emotional during his exegesis sessions, especially when some verses in the Holy Qur’an were recited, or when explaining the persecution of Muslims.

The reciter from Surah Maryam, Verse 63 read, “That is the Garden we shall give as their own to those of Our servants who were devout.”

In response, Pantami sobbed, “O Allah! Make me one of them. O, Allah! Make me one of them!”

Aisha who shared the video on her platform wrote a short message in Hausa.

“A chire tsoro a yi abinda ya dace”, which can be interpreted as “Be courageous to do the right thing”.

It is possible the first lady is asking the minister to be courageous in telling the truth to the president being a member of the Federal Executive Council.

She may also be talking about the ‘controversy’ over Pantami’s promotion to a professor of cyber security by the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO) and therefore asking the minister to disown it.

Recall that in October 2016 interview, Mrs Buhari suggested his husband’s government had been hijacked by only a “few people”, who were behind presidential appointments.

According to her, the president did not know most of the officials he had appointed.

The president laughed off his wife’s accusations, saying “I don’t know which party my wife belongs to, but she belongs to my kitchen and my living room and the other room.”
