EFCC Chairman: Abdulrasheed Bawa speaks on his health after he slumped during speech
The Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Abdulrasheed Bawa, reportedly slumped and rushed out of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
It was reported that Mr Bawa had slumped while about a man the commission arrested in Ibadan, Oyo State, with 116 SIM cards when the incident happened.
At this point, Bawa became emotional and sobbed before stating “let me stop here”.
On descending from the podium, he broke down and was rushed out of the auditorium.
The Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof Isa Pantami and other dignitaries stopped the event and rushed to assist him.
“While giving my goodwill message during the programme organised by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), there was a sort of dizziness on me and I had to excuse myself from the stage,” Bawa tells ChannelsTV.
“And of course I went straight to the hospital where the doctors confirmed to me that everything about me is okay except for the fact that I’m a bit dehydrated and need to take a lot of water.
“Straight away from the hospital, I went back to the office and now I’m back at home,” he adds.
The EFCC had earlier announced that its chairman is “hale and hearty.”
