An Investigation has begun after one person was shot and killed at the entrance of the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego Friday.
According to a statement issued on Friday night — a vehicle attempted to enter Marine corps facility at a checkpoint.
Guards ordered the car to stop, but the driver got out with a knife and approached the gate with “hostile intent.
After several warnings, the driver was shot by base personnel.
An ambulance responded and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
When officers arrived, they were informed that the incident happened on federal property and a military agency would investigate, 10News reported.
Earlier in the day, military authorities also responded to a report of gunshots at an apartment complex in Talmadge.
