Judge declares bandits groups terrorists

A federal high Court in Abuja on Friday has finally declared the activities of bandits’ groups as acts of terrorism.

Mohammed Abubakar — the Director of Public Prosecution — DPP, of the Federation, had filed an ex-parte application seeking to proscribe the grisly activities of ‘bandits’ who have been vicious in kidnapping and killing their captives across Zamfara, Katsina, Kaduna, Benue and Sokoto states.

Abubakar accused bandits of waging a relentless war against ordinary Nigerians in the North-west and North-central States.

SSG reacts to Boko Haram, ISWAP establishing camps in Niger State

Niger State government has reacted to the presence of Boko Haram terrorists and members of Islamic State of West Africa (ISWAP) in Borgu and Shiroro Local Government Areas of the state.

The ISWAP members have already established their presence in Babana, a border town between Nigeria and the Republic of Benin in  Borgu Local Government Area of the state.

Boko Haram were trying to convince the people in the rural communities to join their group, highlighting that they were instigating the villagers against the government by indoctrinating the people.

Photos and identities of four Soldiers killed alongside Brig General by ISWAP terrorists. Suspected fighters of ISWAP had engaged the troops at a military base in the Askira/Uba LGA in a gun battle.

A Brigadier General and three other soldiers were killed when the insurgents invaded Askira town in Askira Uba Local Government Area of Borno State.

The Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen Faruk Yahaya deeply commiserates with the families and relations of the fallen heroes.
