Viral video: Lagos hawker receives over N300,000 for giving money to prison inmates in traffic

A bottled water hawker, Ekuma Jeremiah, has explained why he gave out money to some inmates stuck in traffic in the Ajah area of Lagos state.

Video of Jeremiah carrying a crate of bottled water on his head while giving out some of the money he had made to some inmates inside a van of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS) surfaced online during the week
Jeremiah’s gesture expressed in the seven-second viral video earned him a widespread commendation from many Nigerians who applauded him for his love and generosity.

I became armed robber after I dropped out in JSS 3 – 16-year-old who rapes older women confesses

When I got to the farm, I met the woman and greeted her, she asked if I needed money to eat and I answered her by stretching my hand with the hope of collecting the money instead of giving me the money, she took it to her heels.

A 16-year-old armed robber has narrated to an Akure Chief Magistrate’s court how he robbed and raped some older women in the Okitipupa council area of Ondo State.

The teenager, who said he became an armed robber after he dropped out of school in JSS 3 was arraigned before the Chief Magistrate’s court for conspiracy, armed robbery and rape.
He told the court how he robbed and raped his victims on November 24, 2021, at about 12:30 p.m at Sekere Camp, Okitipupa area of the state.

Nine missing policemen return to camp after ISWAP attack

The Borno State Commissioner of Police, Abdu Umar, had confirmed the attack to journalists in Maiduguri on Friday but denied the abduction of the police officers.

Nine police instructors reported missing after scores of Islamic State West Africa Province fighters attacked the Police Mobile Force Training College, Limankara, Gwoza, Borno State, have returned to their camp.

According to PUNCH, a senior police officer who confirmed their return said that the men, who were earlier believed to have been abducted by the insurgents, found their way to the camp on Saturday.

How ex-governor, Bafarawa’s nephew allegedly sold military gun trucks to bandits – Police sources

“The allegations levelled against him include armed robbery, kidnapping, burning of houses in Sokoto, Zamfara, Kebbi and Niger states and illegal possession of firearms like Ak-47, AK-49 and military gun trucks that he buys and sells to terrorists.”

The Nigeria Police Force is currently investigating grave allegations against a nephew of Attahiru Bafarawa, former governor of Sokoto State, who was arrested for supplying arms, ammunition, and military kits to bandits.
According to NAN, police sources said that investigations showed that the suspect, identified as Musa Mohammed Kamarawa, bought and sold military gun trucks to bandits as well as AK-47 and AK-49 rifles.

The police further claimed his gang engaged in kidnapping and burning of houses in Sokoto, Zamfara, Kebbi and Niger states.

Gunmen abduct four Nasarawa varsity students

Gunmen have abducted four students of Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) Nasarawa State at the university community in Mararaba campus on Thursday, January 13.
The Head of Information and Public Relations Unit of the institution, Mr. Abubakar Ibrahim, who confirmed the incident in a press statement said the gunmen stormed the community, located close to the University at about 11:30 pm and whisked the students to an undisclosed location.
