Female Student reportedly Dies Months After Celebrating her Graduation on social media

A female graduate of Benue State University, has reportedly died shortly after celebrating her graduation from the university.

The deceased identified as Msugh Ngodoo Vera, had taken to Facebook on May 28, 2021, to celebrate her graduation and also share her completed project in a post she captioned ”

God only you can do what seems to be impossible. Finally finally finally I am a graduate. Bsc. Library and information science (Hons). First degree done and dusted. NYSC here I come.”

However, months after the public post, Vera died in the early hours of Wednesday, November 10, after falling sick to an undisclosed ailment that affected her skin.

Newborn dumped in polythene bag rescued in Benue

A newborn baby who was dumped in a black polythene bag along a farm path in Adaka village of Makurdi Local Government Area of Benue State, has been rescued.

Joy Kwatse who rescued the baby, told journalists that she was going to her farm after it stopped raining when she noticed the bag.

She said she found the child struggling for survival, and having mud all over her body even as soldier ants had eaten her head, face and buttocks.

Benue Govt appeals to IGP, DSS to rescue missing Vanguard reporter, 3 kidnapped students

The Benue State Government has appealed to the Inspector General of Police, IGP, Usman Alkali Baba and the Department of State Services, DSS to take steps in ensuring the missing journalist, reporting for Vanguard newspaper, Mr. Tordue Henry Salem and three students of the state who were kidnapped in Zamfara state recently.

The journalist who is an indigene of Benue State was declared missing last after his whereabouts could not be ascertained.

The state government made the appeal on Friday in a statement issued by the state’s Supervising Commissioner of Information, Culture and Tourism, Chief Ogbu Dennis Ekpe.

According to the statement, the state government expressed worry over the fate of the journalist and the kidnapped students identified as Kondo Immaculate Sedoo, Terlumun Yiye and Miss Jennifer Iorliam Awashima.

A pastor is lucky to be alive after a mob set on him following accusations that he stole a phone.

It was alleged that the pastor stole the phone around NNPC Mega station along Otukpo Road, Makurdi, Benue State, though the eyewitnesses didn’t provide proof to back up their allegations.

In a video shared with (NAN), a small crowd is seen surrounding the pastor as they accuse him of theft by 11am today, October 18.

Three Suspects killed as police rescue abducted wife of Benue’s state commissioner

Police command of Makurdi has killed three suspected kidnappers and rescued wife of Benue Commissioner for Land and Survey Mrs. Ann Unenge. According the source the operation, was carried out on Monday morning.

Three of the kidnappers were said to have been gunned down.

Suspected cultists killed a final year Benue student and Anti-cultism campaigner

Igyagher Isaac, a 500 level student of the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, Benue state was shot dead by suspected Cultists.

It was gathered that the Agricultural and Environmental Engineering student was killed on Friday night, July 31, in a lodge around Gabiz Hotel, opposite Benue Judges Lodge, Makurdi.

According to an eyewitness, Isaac was shot dead and his corpse put on a pile of his clothes and burnt by suspected members of Aye and Vikings confraternity.

NDLEA Arrests Anambra Drug Trafficker, Recovers 548,000 Tramadol In Adamawa, Benue

A major illicit drug kingpin in Anambra, Okeke Chijioke, 44, has been arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA.

Okeke was arrested on Saturday 10″ July, 2021 following the credible intelligence and surveillance, which confirmed he stocked his warehouse with the illicit drug.

548,000 tablets of tramadol branded as tarkadol were recovered from his warehouse at 3 Atunya street, Maryland estate, Nkwelle, Oyi local government area of the state.
