Kaduna civil servants who are yet to be vaccinated for COVID-19 will from October 31, be denied access to government offices.

The state government also said that visitors will only be permitted entry upon presentation of evidence of registration with the state Ministry of Health for vaccination, while wearing their facemasks.

10 Bandits killed as Security Operatives attack camp in Kaduna

The troops according to a statement signed on Monday by the Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan encountered the heavily armed bandits in Kwanan Bataru, in the outskirts of Fatika and engaged them in a gun battle.

Ten bandits have been killed after a gun battle with a joint team of security forces in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Mohammed Matawalle has sworn in fourteen Local Government administrators with a charge to prioritize security by working closely with security agencies to secure their respective areas from the menace of banditry.

The three seminarians abducted from Christ the King Major Seminary in Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State, have been freed.

The three Major Seminarians were abducted by armed persons from the Chapel of the Seminary in Fayit Fadan Kagoma, Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State, on Monday 11 October, 2021.

Bandits on Monday night attacked Christ The King Major Seminary School, Fayit Fadan Kagoma, Kafanchan in Jema’a local government area of Kaduna State and kidnapped three major seminarians to an unknown destination.

The seminary is domiciled within the St Albert Institute and houses mostly the formators and seminarians preparing for the Catholic priesthood. It is also where the seminarians receive academic formation.

Bandits now demanding for cooked food as ransom

Bandits are now reportedly demanding for cooked food as ransom following some measures instituted by state governments to fight insecuirty in their states. A youth leader in one of the villages in Birnin Gwari local government area of Kaduna state, Babangida ‎Yaro, told Daily Trust that since the ban on weekly markets as part of measures to tackle insecurity, bandits operating along Damari, Kutemashi and Kuyello villages only asked for cooked food each time they abduct people.

The Kaduna State Police Command has arrested two suspected police impersonators for robbery, illegal arrest and extortion.



Spokesperson of the command, ASP Muhammad Jalige, in a statement on Thursday, October 7, said three sets of police uniform were recovered from the suspects.
