Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano state has commiserated with the families of five students who died in an auto crash along Kano-Katsina Road, leaving 13 others hospitalized. In a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary, Abba Anwar Thursday night the governor expressed shock over the untimely death of the students, describing it as tormenting.

“We already have a Fiscal Responsibility Bill in the pipeline, at the state House of Assembly. And when we are through with it we must have a synergy with your Commission for us to have a workable law,” he said.
Kano State Governor made this known when he received a delegation from the Fiscal Responsibly Commission (FRC) in his office led by the commission’s Chairman, Victor Muruako.
Operatives of the Kano State Police Command have arrested three suspected kidnappers at Sharada quarters of the state.
Spokesman of the command, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, who disclosed this in a statement on Friday, said the suspects were arrested following a report received from a resident that he was contacted and threatened on the telephone to pay the sum of Two Million Naira (N2,000,000:00), otherwise, himself or any member of his family would be kidnapped.
Hafsat Ganduje, the wife of Kano state Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, has been released by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Guardian reports that Ganduje who was compelled to report herself to EFCC headquarters in Abuja on Sunday was quizzed for more than five hours for her alleged involvement in a land scandal.
Kano State Police Command has arrested one Shamsu Salisu, with 114 cartons of suspected fake, adulterated and expired condensed tin milk.
Spokesperson of the command, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, who disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, October 5, said the suspect claimed that the cartons of the milk were sent to him by his father from Lagos.
Ibn-Sina said out of the 40 arrested suspects, 12 are men.
The suspects were apprehended between June 27 and June 28 at about 10 pm and midnight during a special raid in Bbur-burwa, Albasu Local Government Area, gathering commercial sex workers, sexual misconduct including the sale of condoms and marijuana.
“Some suspects were also arrested around the railway, Ja’en, Zoo Road, among others,” he said on Tuesday, June 29.
Ibn-Sina said the suspects would be properly screened, adding that those who are first-time offenders will be released to their parents, and others would be charged to court.
The commander urged the youths to fear God and desist from their bad ways.
