Kano: Teacher who kidnapped, killed Hanifa wept when he visited her parents after abduction – Family member

The school teacher, alongside his accomplice, had demanded a N6m ransom for her release.

Suraj Sulaiman, uncle of five-year-old girl, Hanifa Abubakar, has revealed that the school teacher who kidnapped and killed her in Kano State was among the first set of people who sympathized with her parents after her disappearance.

AMB had reported that the suspect, Abdulmalik Mohammed Tanko, the proprietor of Noble Kids Nursery and Primary school in Kano was arrested by the police for killing Hanifa alongside his accomplice, Hashim Isyaku.

Idris, who claimed to be a tailor, has been roaming the streets of Kano State carrying a placard that reads “This man is for sale for N20 million.” It was gathered that the young man has been on the streets for five days looking for who will buy him.

In an encounter with Daily Trust, he said he had decided to sell himself due to hardship.

He said his family was aware that he had offered himself for sale, adding that he had initially presented himself for sale in Kaduna but when he could not get a serious buyer, he decided to try Kano State with the hope that someone will pay the required price.

Kano police arrest suspected fuel suppliers to bandits

Operatives of Kano State Police Command have arrested two suspected fuel suppliers to bandits in Katsina State.

The suspects are Musbahu Rabi’u and Jamilu Abdullahi, driver of the vehicle, J5 conveying the product.

Spokesperson of the command, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, who disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, October 19, said the suspects were intercepted based on tip off while transporting the product concealed inside empty sack of sugar to the bandits in Jibia area of Katsina State.

Kidnapped BUK student escapes from abductors

The 300-Level student of Bayero University, Kano (BUK) Sakina Bello, who was abducted in Kano metropolis has reappeared.

It will be recalled that the Botany student was reportedly kidnapped around 3pm on Tuesday, on her way back home in a commercial tricycle. The abductors later called on Wednesday morning, and demanded N100million ransom.

Shuaibu Yohanna, the pastor of New Life for all Nation Church in Masu community, Sumaila Local Government Area of Kano state, who was killed by a mob has been laid to rest.

The slain cleric was buried in his hometown, Gingi in Musawa Local Government Area of Katsina State on Thursday, September 30.


Suspected thief has been arrested for allegedly stealing generators in Kano State

A suspected thief Identified as Khamisu Salisu Sulaiman has been arrested in Kano after he allegedly entered a shop through a broken wall to steal generators. 

The suspect was nabbed by vigilantes in Tarauni Local Government Area of the state on Wednesday, August 4, while coming out of the generator repair shop with the stolen items.

Two killed during attack on Sunday Igboho’s house- aide claims

Two persons have been confirmed dead in the attack that took place at the Soka, Ibadan home of Yoruba rights activist, Sunday Adeyemo, better known as Sunday Igboho today July 1.

Confirming this development, the media aide to Igboho, Olayomi Koiki, in a Facebook live this morning, said the gunmen dressed in military apparel, stormed the residence and carried out the attack.

“The situation now is very bad. Two Yoruba sons have been killed in the house of Chief Sunday Igboho. The two dead bodies have been taken away by the military. We do not know of the location where they were taken to”

Speaking further, Koiki said 

“I can confirm that those who came are definitely Nigerian soldiers. There are more than 100 soldiers that came. The situation is very active as more security operatives in about seven Nigerian Army patrol vans have arrived.”

The Nigerian Army is yet to confirm or deny any involvement in the attack.
