5G spectrum auction holds December 13 at $197.4m reserve price – NCC

“A reserve price of approximately N75 billion (Seventy-Five Billion) Naira only, equivalent to One Hundred and Ninety-Seven Million and Four Hundred Thousand United States Dollars only (USS 197,400,000.00) is to be used.


The spectrum auction for 5G services will hold on December 13, 2021, as announced by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).



Making the announcement at a stakeholders’ consultative forum in Lagos on Thursday November 4, Oluwatoyin Asaju, Director of Spectrum Administration at Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) disclosed that the commission has fixed the reserve price for the 3.5GHz spectrum auction at $197.4 million.

NCC regulation excludes Nigerians under 18 years from owning SIM card

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has drafted stiffer regulations guiding Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) cards ownership in Nigeria. Though NCC is still asking for the telecom stakeholders’ inputs into the proposed regulations, it has tentatively set 18 years as the age limit for anyone registering and owning a SIM in the country.

NCC to deny Nigerians without NIN access to driving licence, passport

The Nigerian Communications Commission has revealed that those who failed to link their Subscriber Identity Modules, SIM to their National Identity Numbers, NIN would not be able to obtain some important documents including driving licences and passports henceforth.
