‘My brother died infront of me’ – Aliko Dangote says as he describes the moment as tormenting

Aliko Dangote has narrated the pain he felt while watching his younger brother, Sani Dangote, die.

“The most painful thing is when you are told that your brother will pass on in about an hour and you stand by watching as the machine was going down until it stopped working. It was very tormenting.”

“It is a very tough time for us; it has been very trying, especially for myself. Having a brother like him; once you lose him it is really very painful. He died in front of me, our mother and all his children.

Vice president, Yemi Osinbajo pays condolence visit to Sani Dangote’s family. The Vice President was accompanied to the state by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha and a few other dignitaries.

Osinbajo who described the death of the bereaved as a personal loss explained that though the Federal Government had earlier sent a delegation by Hadi Sirika the Minister of Aviation, he felt the need to come personally to condole the family over their loss. While condoling the bereaved family, he recalled their shared experiences in the area of agriculture, tomatoes in particular.

Aliko Dangote’s brother, Sani laid to rest in Kano. Sani, a younger brother to Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, was buried Wednesday morning at the Dantatas family cemetery in Koki area.

A funeral prayer was held at the emir’s palace for the deceased who passed away at a hospital in the US on Sunday night after a protracted illness. The well attended funeral prayer was led by the Imam of the palace, Sheikh Sani Muhammad.

Orji Kalu commiserates with Aliko Dangote over death of his brother, Sani. The Chief Whip of the Senate, Sen. Orji Kalu has commiserated with the President of Dangote Group of Companies, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, over the death of his younger brother, Alhaji Sani Dangote.
Kalu, in a condolence message issued on Monday in Abuja, described the deceased, who was until his death the Vice Chairman of Dangote Group of Companies, as a complete gentleman with passion for humanity. Kalu, also a former governor of Abia conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Kano State over what he described as a “painful and huge loss” to the nation.

He acknowledged the contributions of the deceased to the business community, adding that the late Dangote was a big player in the private sector beyond the shores of Nigeria. The former governor urged the President of Dangote Group of Companies to take solace in the fact that his late brother lived a purposeful life committed to the service of humanity.

Sani was a member of several Chambers of Commerce, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Shipping of Nigeria and President of the Fertiliser Producers and Suppliers Association (“FERSAN”).
